MG Foods Selects Brevard Bringing 95 New Jobs and

a $2.3 Million Capital Investment

Company to renovate 30,000 square foot facility in Melbourne.

Space Coast, FL (September 11, 2018) – MG Foods Inc. will join Brevard’s growing food manufacturing industry, becoming the 23rd company in this local sector, the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast (EDC) announced today. The company will renovate 685 Atlantis Road in Melbourne for its new production and distribution facility, which will lead to 95 new employees and a $2.3 million capital investment.

The EDC worked closely with MG Foods during the highly competitive site selection process, communicating the business advantages of a Brevard location.

“We are thrilled MG Foods selected Brevard County for its corporate expansion,” said Lynda Weatherman, president and CEO of the EDC. “This announcement is another great example of how Brevard’s industry base is continuing to diversify, adding job opportunities for all Space Coast residents.”

Headquartered in North Carolina, with an additional location in Texas, MG Foods is a private label production company specializing in fresh and frozen foods. The eleven-year-old company has enjoyed rapid growth over the past few years, and will bring a wealth of experience to this new location. Additionally, MG Foods announced Rich Lindsay will be the Director of Operations in Melbourne. Lindsay, who oversaw the successful opening of the MG Food facility in Texas, recently relocated to Melbourne with his family to open and run the Florida Operation.

“We are very excited to open our newest operation in Melbourne. By working strategically with the EDC, our team chose Melbourne as the location due to its proximity to our customers, as well as a terrific pool of prospective employees to draw from. We are making great progress on the construction of our facility which will be open later this fall”, explained Lindsay.

MG Foods will be hosting a job fair in the weeks leading up to the grand opening of the new facility, where prospective employees will have a chance to learn about MG Foods and interview for posted positions. Lindsay added, “we already have a great pipeline of customers established, so when we open, we will hit the ground running and will need great people to help us in a variety of positions, including Class-B drivers, food production workers, warehouse order selectors, and office staff”.

As the construction of the facility nears completion, details of the job fair will be announced.
