EDC of Florida’s Space Coast Welcomes Acadian Contractors Expansion Bringing 100+ local jobs and Celebrating the Grand Opening of New 45,000 sq. ft. facility

SPACE COAST, Fla. (May 14, 2026) –Today, the Economic Development Commission (EDC) announced Louisiana-based Acadian Contractors is deepening its investment on Florida’s Space Coast with the grand opening of a new 45,000-square-foot East Coast headquarters in Cocoa. This move is expected to support more than 100 jobs and further diversify the region’s growing aerospace and marine economy.  The expansion, celebrated alongside the EDC, the City of Cocoa and the Space Coast Chamber, marks a significant jump from the company’s previous 11,000 sq. ft. facility established when Acadian entered the market in 2022.

“Acadian Contractors’ rapid growth is exactly the kind of success story that reflects the strength and diversification of the Space Coast economy,” said Lynda Weatherman. “In just three years, the company has expanded into aerospace, marine and entertainment sectors while building a strong local client base. Their investment and job creation reinforce the Space Coast’s position as a premier destination for industrial diversification and growth.”

The Louisiana-based, third-generation company has invested into the redevelopment of the former Diamondback building off Cox Road, transforming the property into a large-scale operational hub designed to accommodate future workforce and business expansion. The facility will support Acadian Contractors’ growing role in aerospace infrastructure, leveraging decades of marine construction expertise to provide end-to-end support services ranging from pre-launch ground systems to marine recovery operations for rocket hardware.

“This new facility represents a major milestone for our team and directly aligns with our long-term business strategy of expanding our capabilities, strengthening our regional presence, and creating sustainable growth,” said Blake Broussard, Acadian Contractors, Inc. President. “We’re excited to continue building on our success while contributing to meaningful growth in the community. The future is bright, and we’re just getting started.”

The project also highlights the EDC role in supporting business recruitment, expansion and capital investment initiatives across the region as Florida’s Space Coast continues to attract companies tied to aerospace, advanced manufacturing and maritime industries.
